Jodders.  Ride a horse

You have found a web site that's all about you and your horse, and will help you find out more about  how to begin to ride a horse.
Learning to ride a horse, whatever your age, takes time, energy and enthusiasm.   It can be confusing, with advice coming at you from all directions, a lot of it contradictory.  Everyone down the yard seems to be an expert, even the ones who never actually get on a horse!  So how do you work out who's an expert, and who's not?  How do you choose what sort of riding you want to do, and what suits you and your horse?

Learning to ride a horse can mean different things to different people.  Maybe you just want to be able to ride around a menage, or maybe you want to hack out, or compete at showjumping or dressage.  No matter what your riding level, you can always learn more!

Most of all, horse riding is confusing for beginners because it uses a lot of jargon that doesn't always make a lot of sense.  And because you're new, you're afraid to ask.

A lot of the real experts talk about engaging the brain when you ride, and 'ride with your mind'.  When I started riding, I looked around for all the information I could find, and some of it is on this site.
Maybe some of it will help you to start to think about what you do with horse.
